The album announcements keep coming and it’s making me a happy chappy in light of all the shiny new music coming our way September.
The oh-so charming London boys, Mumford & Sons, announced the release date of Babel this week. On 24 September fans will be able to get their hands on what is promised to be more of the cheeky and enticing folk that made their debut album such a favourite.
Mumford is one of those bands I have an especial appreciation for simply because of my memories connected to them. In late 2009 my wacky Australian flatmate and I went to see William Fitzsimmons play in a tiny warehouse venue hidden somewhere in Cologne. On the long drive back to our city, with a snowstorm growing and filled with that special post-gig elation, I listened to Mumford’s poignant White Blank Page for the first time, on repeat.
It’s moments like that, where you truly feel the power and love of music that makes it more than just the soundtrack to our lives, don’t you think?
Let’s see what memories Babel in store for us:)
In the meantime, listen to Home, which is on neither album unfortunately, but beautiful nonetheless.
Also coming out in September is Two Door Cinema Club’s Beacon. You can get a free download of the first release, Sleep Alone, off their website in the next 24 hours, so clickity-clack your way over there if you’re a fan of like their catchy electro-pop.
I’m hoping there’s even more new music news coming, because who doesn’t love that?
