Life at the National Arts Fest has simply been too busy and good to blog all about it, so I’ve resorted to rather just sharing some of the talented artists I’ve had the honor of connecting with.
There are only a handful of female folk/country musicians I could name on the spot, and Laurie Levine is one of them. She’s performing here in a duo act with Lize Wiid and a group effort named Laurie Levine & the Folk Collective.
Laurie has a strong, captivating voice that complements the typically folk violin and accordian perfectly. We really need more girls in the SA folk scene and Laurie’s a good representative to have:)
There isn’t a video of it yet, but go stream the song Six Winters off her new album for something beautiful and oddly catchy.
